Website
Over the past few months I have been leading a student redesign project of the Arch Lab website. While the Arch Lab’s research and student designs are cutting edge, the website has often lagged in picking up on the most current technology standards.
Further, as our lab has grown, our website needs have grown in frequency and diversity. A website that once only required a set of static text and images now demands blogging ability, a method to track the different locations and times of meetings, speakers, etc., and ways to integrate our alumni and human factors contacts into the site.
To do this, we have employed a user-centered design approach similar to the user engineering lifecycle proposed by Deb Mayhew.
Having currently identified our users and performed task analysis, we are now in the process of defining our information architecture and beginning our style guide.

More information will be added on this project as we move forward - look for a new Arch Lab Website in 2007!
